The environment is being bombarded with active pharmaceuticals that pass through our bodies, in many cases unchanged. The accumulation of these substances is having unforeseen consequences could be potentially devastating to the environment and wildlife.

Only in recent years has, not just the scale of the problem, but the problem itself become recognised as a serious environmental issues that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.
